The conference dinner will take place at Restaurant Göran (Linnankatu 72). The restaurant can be reached conveniently by bus nr 1 (going to Satama/Hamnen). On Thursday and Friday, lunch will be served at Café Arken in the same building where the conference takes place. On Saturday, we will have lunch at Brunndeli in the museum Aboa Vetus/Art Nova (Itäinen Rantakatu 4–6), located within a ten-minute walk from Arken. The museum also offers delegates entry at a reduced fee, so we warmly recommend a visit. Just let the staff know you are participating in the conference as you purchase your ticket.
Things to do in Turku
Turku is the oldest city in Finland, and its history stretches back more than 800 years. On Thursday 20 August, you can find out more about the city’s history during our walking tour, which starts at 18.30 and covers the area around the cathedral (the oldest part of Turku). Participation is free and no prior registration is needed.
While there is much to see and explore in Turku, there are also plenty of cafés, bars, and restaurants where you can relax and enjoy something to eat or drink. The city has many museums, and for those interested in the 18th century, a visit to the Pharmacy Museum and the Qwensel House is a must. Turku is an excellent city to explore on foot, though you can also use the bus network to get around. Contactless payment is accepted on all buses.

Travel
Turku has excellent rail links both to Helsinki and to other major cities in Finland. For timetables and tickets, see the national rail operator’s website.
If you prefer to travel by bus, you can find timetables and tickets through Matkahuolto or Onnibus.
Travelling from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport is convenient both by train and bus.
If you are travelling from the Stockholm-area, taking a ferry is a good option. The ferry terminal in Turku is not far from the city centre, and shuttle buses travel frequently between the terminal and the city centre.
Turku also has a small international airport with connections to several Nordic and European destinations. Just like the ferry terminal, it can be conveniently reached by bus from the city centre.
If you need a taxi while in Turku, there are many companies that operate services in the city. For example Taxidata or Menevä are good options.
