The school year 2026–2027 begins on Thursday, August 13. The working days for 2026–2027 are published here.

• Students in grade 1, Kyrkoesplanaden 11–13, start at 9:30 a.m. and are welcomed by the teachers in the schoolyard.
• Students in grades 2–6, Kyrkoesplanaden 11–13, start at 9:00 a.m. and are welcomed by the teachers in the schoolyard. School transportation will operate from the afternoon of the same day.
• Students in grade 7, Kyrkoesplanaden 11–13, gather at 9:00 a.m. in the school cafeteria, and students in grades 8–9 gather at 9:00 a.m. in classrooms according to separate notices in Wilma.
• Upper secondary school students gather in Estradan, Skolhusgatan 31, at 9:00 a.m.

Welcome to Vasa Övningsskola’s homepage! Our school, which comprises basic education and upper-secondary school education, is located at two different addresses in the centre of Vaasa. In total, 950 children and adolescents receive their education in the school by a team of 120 teachers and staff. Additionally, over 400 teacher students per year do their supervised teacher training at our school. The other, Finnish-language, teacher training schools in Finland are important partners to us, as is the Department of Education at the The Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, which is important especially for our research and experimentation work. We are a university school and a part of Åbo Akademi University.
