One year after graduation
Åbo Akademi’s own follow-up studies of graduates one year and five years after graduation have recently been conducted in parallel and are therefore compiled into a joint report (in Swedish with English summary)

Here are some brief results for graduates in 2023, surveyed in autumn 2024:
- Employment rate: 89.4%, unemployment rate: 4.8%
- Just under a quarter experienced periods of unemployment during their first year in working life, averaging 4.24 months
- Median salary: €3,500
- Just over half of respondents have permanent employment
- 43% work in the public sector (state, municipality), 33% in the private sector, and 2% are entrepreneurs
Approximately three-quarters have a job with a level of demand that matches or exceeds their education. Graduates are satisfied with their degree in terms of employment and career, and believe that their education has provided sufficient preparation for working life. The education has significantly developed their ability for self-direction and initiative, analytical and systematic thinking, information-seeking, and learning skills.

Doctor´s Career Monitoring
Åbo Akademi University, Career Services participates annually in the national career follow-up on the labor market for PhD graduates. The number of respondents per program is so small that Åbo Akademi does not publish its own report, as anonymity cannot be guaranteed. Follow the national reports (which allow filtering by university level).
