Here you will find instructions about how to use the Bambu Lab P1S.
1. Before You Start
- Make sure the printer is on a stable, flat surface.
- Check that the printer is plugged in and turned on.
- Ensure the build plate and interior are clear of old prints or debris.
2. Power On and Initialization
- Turn on the P1S using the switch on the back.
- The printer may run an automatic self-test and calibration.
- Follow any instructions shown on the screen.
3. Preparing a Print
A. Create or Choose a 3D Model
Use Bambu Studio on the connected computer to open or import a model (STL/3MF).
B. Slice the Model
- In Bambu Studio:
- Select Bambu P1S as the printer.
- Choose material (PLA recommended).
- Click Slice to prepare the model for printing.
- Send the sliced file to the printer over Wi‑Fi or SD card.
4. Starting Your Print
- On the printer screen, choose the file you sent.
- The printer will:
- Heat the nozzle
- Heat the build plate
- Wait as the printer creates a purge line or purge block (normal).
5. Monitoring the Print
You can watch:
- Directly through the printer window
- On the computer or phone via Bambu Studio/Bambu Handy
If the print looks wrong (no filament coming out, spaghetti, warped base), press Pause or Stop on the screen.
6. Removing the Finished Print
- Let the print bed cool down completely.
- Remove the flexible build plate, bend it gently, and the print should pop off.
- Reinstall the build plate carefully before the next print.
7. Safety Rules
✔ Keep hands away from the nozzle and bed when hot (up to 300 °C / 100 °C).
✔ Do not touch moving parts.
✔ Make sure hair, sleeves, and jewelry are secured.
✔ Always remove prints after cooling.
✔ Report strange noises or errors to the teacher.
8. Troubleshooting for Students
Problem: Filament not loading
- Check that the filament is cut cleanly and try again.
- Make sure it is inserted into the correct PTFE tube.
Problem: Bed or nozzle not heating
- Restart the printer.
- Ask teacher for help—could be safety lock or firmware issue.
Problem: Print not sticking
- Clean the plate.
- Use a light layer of glue stick if your teacher allows it (ask Markus or Andreas).
- Reselect PLA Plate in Bambu Studio for correct settings.
9. When You Are Done
Notify Markus if filament is running low.
Remove the print and clean the build plate.
Close Bambu Studio.
Turn off the printer.
Leave the workspace tidy.
