Plan your studies

Plan your studies

When you are admitted to Åbo Akademi University, you are granted a study right in the programme you have been admitted to. The study right grants you the right to take courses and get a degree. The studies are divided into major subjects, minor subjects and elective courses. How the studies are structured depends on what programme you are studying.

You can also study at Åbo Akademi University without the right to complete a degree, for example if you are studying at the Open University or are a JOO-student.

The study planning tool Peppi

All degree students need to make an individual study plan for their studies. Your study advisor can help you with your study plan. The study plan is created in the study planning tool Peppi. In Peppi, you can also:

  • Enroll in courses
  • Register for exams
  • View your course schedule
  • View your credits and course grades
  • Print your transcript of records
  • View information about your annual enrollment
  • View information about your study right
  • Update your contact information

The Study Guide

The Study Guide contains information on what courses Åbo Akademi University offers and what courses are part of specific programmes. You can also view the structures and courses of a specific programme.

In the course descriptions, you find basic information about the course contents, course level and learning objectives. By choosing a specific course version, you get information about the teaching schedule and location, course teacher and enrollment deadline.

The Study Guide is updated at the end of the spring semester, and then the information for the upcoming academic year is updated. Remember to check the updated information before the start of studies in autumn.
