Nordic and international aspects as well as European integration characterise all research, often with a comparative perspective. Leading research is conducted, in particular, within law concerning autonomy and self-government and the division of legislative powers between various lawmakers. New research areas include the legal regulations concerning algorithmic decision-making as well as export and import legislation.
