Insignia
All promovendi at Åbo Akademi University wear the doctoral hat and will receive a diploma. As a rule, insignia (hat model and lyre emblem as well as any doctoral sword and collar/brooch) vary according to the academic field in question.
You will be conferred in accordance with the degree you have earned and must come with the following insignia:

Akademiska traditioner: Promotion
Vid promotionen invigs de som avlagt doktorsexamen till sin doktorsvärdighet och får de insignier som hör till examen. Vid promotionen promoveras även hedersdoktorer och jubeldoktorer.
