Collar or Brooch (Doctors of Technology)

The insignias for Doctors of Technology at Åbo Akademi University include an embroidered velvet collar (for men) or a brooch (for women), which is fastened to the dress. These insignia are not mandatory for participation in the conferment ceremony.

• The velvet collar is attached so that it covers the tailcoat collar. (However, if the tailcoat is borrowed or rented, the velvet collar must not be sewn onto it.)
  
• The brooch is worn on the left side of the chest.
