Welcome to the doctoral conferral ceremony

Åbo Akademi University is organising a doctoral conferral ceremony on Friday, 20 May 2022. A total of eight jubilee doctors, 13 honorary doctors and 90 doctoral graduates will be conferred at Åbo Akademi University.

The conferral ceremony will take place in the Turku Concert Hall, starting at 12:00. You can follow the conferral ceremony in the concert hall via livestream.

The doctoral conferral ceremony is the foremost academic celebration. At the ceremony, doctoral graduates are awarded their doctoral degrees and receive the insignia associated with the degree.

After the conferral ceremony in the Turku Concert Hall, the newly conferred doctors, the academic staff, and guests walk in a stately procession down Aninkaistenkatu to an ecumenical celebration service in the Turku Cathedral.

The festivities will conclude with a banquet in Logomo.
