One case of the coronavirus at Åbo Akademi University in Turku

A person at Åbo Akademi University in Turku has tested positive for the coronavirus. The infectious disease authority of Turku is investigating the matter.

Individuals close to the infected have been contacted and are now in quarantine. Students, coworkers and others that have visited campus are asked to monitor their own health and immediately go and be tested for coronavirus infection if even mild symptoms arise.

The Fresher’s Fairs that were planned for Wednesday 9 September and Thursday 10 September at Arken, Turku campus, are postponed to a later date.

In order to stave off further contagion, we encourage all students and staff to continually keep themselves up to date with the current safety guidelines as listed on www.abo.fi/covid19. The guidelines are updated when needed.

You can make a symptom assessment using the Omaolo service at www.omaolo.fi. Do not hesitate to contact health services if you suspect you’ve been exposed to the virus.
