Chancellor Marianne Stenius appoints eleven new docents

The Chancellor of Åbo Akademi University, Marianne Stenius, has appointed eleven new docents.

The newly appointed docents are:

PhD Hanna Acke, Title of Docent in Interdisciplinary Linguistics
DHSc Malin Andtfolk, Title of Docent in caring science with a specialisation in welfare technology
DSc (Econ. & Bus. Adm.) Olga Dziubaniuk, Title of Docent in marketing and sustainable business
PhD Natan Elgabsi, Title of Docent in philosophy
ThD Chongpongmeren Jamir, Title of Docent in global Christianity
PhD Leena Jokinen, Title of Docent in sustainable innovation in the shipbuilding industry
PhD Johnny Långstedt, Title of Docent in new technology and cultural change
DSc (Tech.) Juhana Peltonen, Title of Docent in growth entrepreneurship
PhD Emil Rosqvist, Title of Docent in surface chemistry
PhD Tiina Räisä, Title of Docent in media communication
PhD Niklas Toivakainen, Title of Docent in philosophy

The Chancellor may grant the Title of Docent to a person who holds a doctoral degree, has in-depth knowledge of their discipline, and has demonstrated the ability to carry out independent research through publications or by other means.

In addition, documented teaching competence is required, demonstrated through experience in teaching and supervision.

“Docents bring valuable expertise to Åbo Akademi University by broadening and deepening knowledge within their fields. They contribute to both research and teaching, and many also bring valuable experience and networks from outside academia. At the same time, the University provides an environment where docents can continue to develop their research ideas and expertise in interaction with other researchers and students,” says Chancellor Marianne Stenius.
