Paying the tuition fee
Åbo Akademi University charges tuition fees from all non EU/EEA citizens. Information on the tuition fee amount is found in your admissions letter and on our page Tuition fees.
The tuition fee is paid using the Flywire service portal. Flywire is an easy-to-use payment solution that provides international students with a streamlined payment experience, saving time and money.
Please note!
The Flywire portal is not yet active for Åbo Akademi University. We are working on finalising our portal and we should have it up and running by the middle of April.

For new students
We recommend you pay your tuition fee only after you have accepted your study offer and know you will be able to start your studies at Åbo Akademi University.
The first-year tuition fee must be paid in one instalment.
New students are offered an early commitment offer, reducing the tuition fee amount by 4 000 euro. In order to utilise the offer, the study offer must be accepted and the (reduced) tuition fee paid by May 31st, 2026. If paying after this, the tuition fee must be paid in full.
You must pay the tuition fee before you may register to the university as an attending student. If your study place offer is conditional, you must also fulfil the conditions before you may register. For registration information please see our page Annual enrolment.
You should not pay the tuition fee before you are sure you are able to start your studies in time in the autumn.
The paid tuition fee can only be refunded if certain conditions are met and the refund request is made within the specified deadlines. For more information please see our information on the page Tuition fees.

For continuing students
Continuing students may pay the tuition fee in one or two instalments per academic year, for one semester or two semesters at a time, but you must pay at least the fee for one semester before you register.
You may only register as attending for the semester(s) for which you have paid the tuition fee. If you pay the tuiton fee for one semester only you should register as non-attending for the other semester of the academic year.
If you have received a scholarship from Åbo Akademi University that does not cover the full tuition fee, the remaining tuition fee must be paid before you can register as attending.
The deadlines for paying the tuition fee:
- The full academic year or autumn semester: August 14th, 2026
- The spring semester: TBD
