The applicant applies directly to the Master’s Degree Programme in Advanced Practice Nursing (APN). Applicants to the Master’s degree programmes taught in English must always prove their knowledge of English language, and fulfill the general academic requirements.
Students accepted into the programme are experienced nurses (including district nurses and midwives from the Nordic countries) with deep knowledge of their field. To be admitted to the programme, students must possess a Bachelor’s degree in nursing (Nordic countries, EU countries) or equivalent (outside EU), and have completed at least three years of relevant work experience as a nurse. District nurses and midwives from the Nordic countries (licensed registered nurses) are also eligible to apply.
Student selection is made on the basis of application documents (including CV and motivation letter). Only applicants that fulfil the criteria can be considered for admission. The following selection criteria are taken into account in the selection process:
- The applicant’s academic quality and the success and the relevance of the applicant’s overall study record in the completed Bachelor’s and other studies, judged primarily from the degree certificate and transcript of records provided.
- Motivation letter that specifically highlights one’s interest to study in this programme.
- Relevant work experience and other merits and qualifications documented in the CV and supported by certificates.
There is no entrance examination. Admission is based on the application. Due to a potentially high number of applicants, meeting the admission criteria is no guarantee for admission to the programme. Nurses with non-medical prescribing rights from abroad can after admission apply for credit transfer; applications for transfer are evaluated case by case.
