Adjunct professor Luisa Torsi receives chemistry award

Luisa Torsi, adjunct professor within molecular process and material technology at Åbo Akademi University has been awarded by IUPAC as one of twelve “Distinguished Women in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering 2019”.

– I am very happy and honoured to receive this award that recognises the quality of the work we have been doing also in collaboration with the team of professor Ronald Österbacka, Luisa Torsi says.

IUPAC, International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry, is an international federation of national organizations representing chemists in countries worldwide.

The awards program was initiated in 2011 to acknowledge and promote the work of women chemists and chemical engineers worldwide. The 12 awardees have been selected based on excellence in research, teaching or education, or demonstrated managerial excellence in the chemical sciences.
