BioCity Symposium 2026 Explores the Expanding Role of Imaging in Life Sciences – Registration Now Open
The 35th annual BioCity Symposium will be held on 27–28 August 2026 at the Mauno Koivisto Centre, BioCity Turku. This year’s symposium carries the theme VISION, EXPANDED. Registration is open until Friday, 14 August 2026.
The annual BioCity Symposium is a long-standing conference series organized by BioCity Turku since 1991. Over the years, it has become the most important annual gathering in the fields of biosciences and molecular medicine in Turku. Each year, the symposium brings together hundreds of participants and features talks by cutting-edge international researchers.
This year’s BioCity Symposium brings together leading minds from academia and industry to explore imaging’s central role in life science discovery. The symposium will spotlight cutting-edge advances in light microscopy, PET imaging, and AI-powered image analysis, while fostering dialogue on data integration, emerging scientific applications, and translational potential.
The programme features a line-up of internationally recognised scientists, with keynote lectures by Samantha Stehbens from The University of Queensland, Australia, and Harry Hu from the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, USA.
The invited speakers are experts in medical and biological imaging and together represent both fields comprehensively, making the event relevant to a broad audience of researchers interested in imaging.
Call for poster abstracts
Researchers are encouraged to participate in the poster exhibition and submit an abstract when registering for the event no later than Friday, 5 June 2026. Space is available for the first 125 submitted abstracts. Of these, five presenters will be invited to give a short talk during the symposium, while the remaining contributions will be presented as posters.
Registration for the event closes on Friday, 14 August 2026, at 23:59. The symposium is free of charge.
