Responsibility for quality assurance

Åbo Akademi University has made a conscious decision to develop its own model for quality assurance through operational management. By quality assurance we mean that we systematise and document in a systematic way. Quality assurance through operational management is visible organisationally through clear mandates for decision-making and by position, transparent ways of managing and conducting operations, and the use of a common planning template that includes everything from planning to monitoring in the same document.

Responsibility for quality assurance is defined by position and function in our fundamental governing documents, in particular the Administrative Instruction, the Regulation on Management and Delegation, and the Regulation on Operational Management. The principles for quality assurance through operational management are described in the Regulation on Operational Management.
