In September 2025, the School of Business and Economics at Åbo Akademi announces postdoctoral research grants from the scholarship fund Dagmar och Ferdinand Jacobssons fond. The fund is held in trust by the ÅAU Foundation. Application deadline is September 30, 2025.

Call for postdoctoral research grant applications

The School of Business and Economics at Åbo Akademi University – Handelshögskolan vid Åbo Akademi hereby announces three (3) postdoctoral research grants of maximum 12 months in the school’s active fields of research, starting November 1, 2025 or the closest possible date. The grant is 2 700 euros/month until 31.12.2025, and 2 900 euros/month as of 1.1.2026. Eligible applicants are encouraged to submit the following documents by September 30, 2025 (at 23.59):

• Evidence of a PhD thesis completed no more than 3 calendar years ago, or evidence that the thesis has been approved for examination, such as pre-examiners’ statements;
• A cover letter explaining how their work fits together with ongoing research at the School and how they plan to contribute to the School’s research environment;
• A research plan for the duration of the scholarship, including a summary of possible pending research funding applications;
• A description of the applicant’s current research networks, as evidenced by e.g. co-authorships, and a plan for how to develop these networks if not evident from the research plan;
• A CV and list of publications following the recommendations of the Research Council of Finland;
• A summary of the applicant’s planned publication pipeline, including such description as the applicant is comfortable to share of manuscripts submitted, under review, and/or under revision.

Physical presence at the School’s campus in Turku, previously obtained external funding, and teaching experience are considered merits for the position.
