HHÅA100 Campaign Aims to Enable Professors of Practice

The School of Business and Economics at Åbo Akademi University (HHÅA) will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2027. In preparation for this milestone, the HHÅA100 fundraising campaign has been launched.

The School of Business and Economics at Åbo Akademi University (HHÅA) will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2027. In preparation for this milestone, the HHÅA100 fundraising campaign has been launched.

The goal of HHÅA100 is to raise funds that will make it possible to establish Professorships of Practice.

An active dialogue between the university and the professional world also benefits business and industry, as HHÅA educates graduates in economics and business administration with broad networks and a deeper understanding of societal and economic challenges. As we approach our centennial, we want to take the next step. Investing in Professorships of Practice will further strengthen the connection between academia and professional practice.

A Professor of Practice enhances the university’s collaboration with business, industry, and society. The individual brings extensive expertise and practical insights gained from a career outside the university sector, contributing through lectures, workshops, seminars, supervision, and mentoring.

A Professor of Practice is usually appointed for a three-year term and works part-time (20%) alongside their regular professional commitments.
