Cecilia Raunio new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Åbo Akademi University

At an extraordinary meeting on Friday 5 September, the Åbo Akademi University Board appointed Cecilia Raunio, M.Sc. (Econ. & Bus. Adm.), to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Åbo Akademi University.

Cecilia Raunio has been working as the City of Vaasa’s Finance and Strategy Director since 2023.
Raunio will lead the finance, ICT and campus development activities at Åbo Akademi University. This is in accordance with the new organisational model that Åbo Akademi University has adopted as of 1.9.2025.

“We are pleased to welcome Cecilia to Åbo Akademi University. Her expertise and diverse experience in financial management is a valuable addition to our operations,” says Gunilla Widén, Acting Rector of Åbo Akademi University.

Raunio will start at ÅAU at the end of November.
