Chengtian Cui Associate Professor in Industrial Energy Technology at the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

Dr. Cui received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in 2020 from Tianjin University (Tianjin, China). After serving as an Assistant Professor at Nanjing Tech University (Nanjing, China) from 2020 to 2023, Dr. Cui worked as a postdoctoral research associate at Purdue University (West Lafayette, IN, USA) from 2023 to 2024, focusing on the decarbonization of the chemical industry through renewable electrification. Following this, during his second postdoc position (2024 to 2025), he worked on radically electrified methanol production and purification at TU Delft (Delft, The Netherlands). He is currently an Associate Professor at Åbo Akademi University (Turku, Finland). His research interests include process systems engineering, industrial energy technology, and process control. Dr. Cui has published more than 70 articles in high-impact journals (e.g., Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Chemical Engineering Journal, Energy, etc.). Moreover, he is the recipient of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowship at TU Delft.
