Join us for a BioCity Turku Guest Seminar with Professor Shimon Sakaguchi from Osaka University, Japan. Professor Sakaguchi is a Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine 2025 and is internationally renowned for his pioneering work in immunology, particularly for the discovery and characterization of regulatory T cells (Tregs) and their fundamental role in immune regulation.
In 2025, he was jointly awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Mary E. Brunkow and Fred Ramsdell for discoveries concerning peripheral immune tolerance.
His lecture is entitled “Treg control of immune responses, especially autoimmunity and tumor immunity”.
