Warmly welcome to join us for an inspiring career seminar with Prof. Bishr Omary. Dr. Omary has a highly successful academic career as a Professor at Stanford University, University of Michigan, and currently as Professor in Biomedical Science at Rutgers University in USA, where he also acts as Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Research. He has served as Editor-in-Chief of the prestigious journal Gastroenterology as well as president of the American Gastroenterological Association.
Dr Omary’s training is from chemistry, cell biology and medicine. He has mentored numerous international students and fellows, and he has a broad perspective on how institutions and academic leaders can support and promote both career and personal development. His strong engagement for advancing early careers is also evident as he has received several prestigious mentorship awards, and actively published on mentorship, career development, authorship and equality in science. Dr. Omary is an engaging and approachable speaker, and we look forward to seeing you at the seminar.
