Symposium in Memory of Nils Erik Enkvist on His 100th Birthday
Åbo Akademi University andThe Finnish Society of Sciences and Letters is organizing a symposium in memory of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Professor Nils-Erik Enkvist.
Nils-Erik Enkvist was professor of English as well as the Rector and Chancellor of Åbo Akademi University. He was also honorary member of the Finnish Society of Sciences and Letters.
The full-day symposium will take place in Turku on Monday, September 22, 2025.
The event will highlight Enkvist’s significant contributions to language and literary studies through lectures addressing key research areas from his extensive scholarly work, including Old English and applied linguistics.
