M.Sc. (tech.) Mauricio Roche Tabata will publicly defend his doctoral thesis in Thermal and Flow Engineering at the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Åbo Akademi University. The thesis is entitled Modeling and Analysis of Blast Furnace Drainage.
Professor emeritus Rob Boom, TU Delft, The Netherlands, will serve as opponent and professor Henrik Saxén, Åbo Akademi University, as custos.

To attend the public defence, you need to have the Zoom software or the web browser Google Chrome installed on your computer. You do not need a Zoom account to attend. If you install the Zoom software you attend by clicking on the link for the event, at which point you are asked to allow the Zoom app to launch.
At the end of the event members of the audience are allowed to ask questions. If you want to ask question, you can indicate that by using the “Raise Hand” feature. You can prepare yourself by having a microphone installed on your computer, or by writing down your question in a text document ready to be copied into the Zoom chat feature when you are asked to state your question.
