Date: October 5th 2023
Time: 10:00-15:00 o’clock
Place: Bikupan (C304) Arken, Åbo or via Zoom
The workshop is open to Åbo Akademi University affiliated doctoral researchers whose projects encompass a minority perspective. It will have a dual focus on risks and possibilities with open science in the area of minority studies.
- Data management: How to handle data that relates to groups that are differentially positioned, something which is common in the field of minority studies, while simultaneously being committed to opening up and sharing data, codes etc.? Risk analysis and ways to handle risks.
- Democratization: Open Science can be viewed as a way to collaborate on all stages of the scientific process. How to make it possible for groups which are in various ways differentially positioned and marginalized to be equal partners in the scientific collaboration and processes geared at producing new knowledges? In which ways can open science provide tools that help towards the democratization of scientific work?
During the workshop, the doctoral researchers will also have an opportunity to get feedback on their own ongoing projects.
