Dr.Sc. (Tech.) Cataldo De Blasio is currently Post-doc researcher at the Department of Energy Technology at Aalto University, Espoo, Finland;

and

Adjunct Professor (Docent) in Process Design with Environmental Engineering Applications; Åbo Akademi University, Finland.

His research interest is related to:

    • Chemical reaction engineering of CO2 and SOx co-capture processes: the research aims to find new and more efficient solutions in Greenhouse gases abatement. Mathematical modeling of heat and mass transfer in wet Flue Gas Desulfurization, investigating new process conditions and raw materials.
    • Supercritical Water Gasification of biomass derived from agricultural and industrial waste as an alternative way of producing green fuels.
    • Enhancement of Metallurgical processes by means of Chemical Reaction Engineering.

Doctoral Thesis: "Reactive Dissolution of Sedimentary Rocks in Flue Gas Desulfurization. Modeling and Experimental Investigation". Discussed at the doctoral defense the December 10, 2010.
