Residence permit – step-by-step-guide. Note that due to the current COVID-19 situation the Finnish Immigration Service has instructed students to start their residence permit process asap at EnterFinland even though missions are closed at the moment. After creating an account and uploading the required documents follow with the bulletins issued by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and book a time for identification immediately when the Ministry for Foreign Affairs has announced that the exceptional arrangements are no longer in effect.

How to take part in a webinar

We will send you an email the day before with instructions and a link to the Zoom meeting. You can either click the link, which will give you immediate access to the meeting or download the Zoom-app at zoom.us/download. We recommend the app as it is free, works better and contains more functions. Should you choose to participate by just clicking the link, note that you should use Chrome (Zoom does not work well in other browsers).

For more instructions on how to use Zoom please see here. It is important that you check your computer settings and compatibility well in advance before the webinar, so you don’t miss the session because of technical problems. Take also a look at different functions, e.g. changing views for a more comfortable experience.

Practical matters during the webinar

Register/log in(click the link to the webinar well on time and if needed do a last minute sound check.

The usual length of a webinar is about 60 minutes and is divided into two parts:

  • Presentation
  • Questions and answers

During the presentation, questions may arise, we ask you therefore to write your question(s) in the chat – all questions will be answered after the presentation.
